Thousands of Russian citizens have been waiting for hours to enter Mongolia in an attempt to avoid mobilization.
According to eyewitnesses, Russians have been waiting for more than 16 hours to enter Mongolia. Individuals claim that this is their "only choice", after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "partial mobilization" of 300.000 reservists.

Mongolia, which is almost entirely dependent on Russian oil and gas, officially takes a neutral position on the conflict in Ukraine.
Russia is negotiating a new infrastructure project to deliver gas to China via Mongolia. Last month, Mongolian President Uknagin Kuresluk met in Uzbekistan with the presidents of Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, about plans for the pipeline, construction of which will begin within two years.
