Google's Russian subsidiary plans to file for bankruptcy
The American company Google informs that its Russian branch plans to file for bankruptcy. The reason is that it can not pay staff and suppliers, Russian media reported.
The Russian branch has filed a notice of intent to declare bankruptcy with the Fedresur National Registry over the seizure of the bank's bank account by Moscow.
"The seizure has led to the unsustainable functioning of the Russian office, including the employment and payment of employees in Russia, the payment of suppliers and sellers and the settlement of other financial obligations," the statement said.
Earlier, Google announced the termination of its operations in Russia. The company has now announced that it will continue to provide free services in the country, including search, YouTube, Gmail, Maps, the Android operating system and the Play Store.
