Pianist and university professor Jasmina Chakar has died

JMinka Chakar, a pianist and university professor at FMU, died at the age of 81 after a short illness. 

She was born in Bitola in 1939. She graduated from the Academy of Music in Zagreb in 1963. in the class of prof. Darko Lukic. After the founding of the Higher School of Music (today the Faculty of Music Arts - FMU), Chakar has been a professor of piano and chamber music since 1967. In 1976 she received her master's degree in piano at the Faculty of Music in the class of prof. Vladimir Krpan, whose collaborator has been for many years during his pedagogical engagement in Skopje. Over 40 young pianists graduated in her class during the pedagogical activity. After retiring in 2003, Chakar continued to work with second- and third-cycle students at FMU.

Jasmina Chakar in her biography has numerous performances at home and abroad, and in addition to solo performances, her concert opus contains 76 piano accompaniments performed with almost all prominent Macedonian vocal and instrumental artists. The most numerous are the piano collaborations with Milka Eftimova - mezzo-soprano, Nikola Atanasov - flute, Slavica Petrova-Galic - soprano, Duska Taseska - cello, Ljupco Sokolov - viola, Nina Srebrova - piano, Leonid Pejsahova and A , Stanislav Apolin - lead, Vernon Hill - flute, Aureli Blaszczok - violin, Mikhail Homicer - lead, Marine Iashvili - violin, Ludovit Kanta - forehead, Tonko Ninic - violin, Irena Grafenauer - flute, Flute , Tripo Simonuti - violin, Milenko Stefanovic - clarinet and many others.

For her artistic engagement she has won numerous awards and prizes, including "November 13" (1979), "October 11" for many years of significant achievements in the field of culture and art (1999), Golden Lyre for Lifetime Achievement (2007), Lifetime Achievement Award in the field of music pedagogy (2008, 2010), Mother Teresa Award (2009).
