Almost every city has at least one building that residents affectionately call "Lepa Brena", and this phenomenon has become a true cultural wonder.
From Kragujevac, Novi Pazar, Leskovac, Niš, all the way to Šibenik, the name "Lepa Brena" is used for recognizable, usually large and impressive residential complexes built during the 1980s and 1990s.

This nickname is often associated with associations of the popularity and charm of Brenna from that period, but also with the architecture itself – tall buildings or those with recognizable facades.
Older residents of Kragujevac say that Lepa Brena, at the height of her fame, arrived in Kragujevac in the 1980s just to cut the ribbon on the then newly constructed building. There was singing and dancing until late into the night.
At that time, about eighty residents of Kragujevac, mostly retirees and owners of old houses, received apartments in the imposing building by the river, which was therefore named "Lepa Brena".
Although the singer herself was probably not aware that she would become the inspiration for building names, it is difficult to imagine a greater compliment to her influence on the culture and daily lives of people in the Balkans.
