Gold worth over 600 thousand euros and undeclared money seized at GP Tabanovce

Yesterday, the Customs Administration seized 13,3 kilograms of gold with an estimated value of over 600.000 euros at the Tabanovce Border Crossing.

As the Customs Administration informs, during a detailed customs control of a bus entering the country, the mobile teams from the Department for Operational Affairs of the Customs Administration at the border crossing "Tabanovce" discovered and temporarily detained 13,3 kilograms of gold and undeclared 30.000 euros. The seized gold has an estimated value of over 600.000 euros.

-Due to the existence of suspicion, the bus with Macedonian license plates, which moves on a regular route from Porec (R. Croatia) to Gostivar, together with the passengers, was directed to the customs terminal at the border crossing.

During the inspection with a mobile scanner, irregularities were noticed in the roof structure, where various gold jewelry and gold tiles in regular and irregular shapes were found. The undeclared goods - gold with a total weight of 13.304 grams have been temporarily detained and handed over to the Department of Investigations for further action, the announcement states. In addition, during a personal search, undeclared 30.000 euros were found and confiscated from one of the drivers, for which a report was drawn up for a foreign currency offense.
