"Winter MakeDox" opens the topic of environmental protection with a screening and debate at "Europe House" in Struga
The Association for the Promotion of Documentary "MakeDox" continues with the series of screenings within the program segment "Winter MakeDox".
The third block of the series will be held on December 5 (Thursday), starting at 18 p.m., in "Europe House Struga", where the documentary "We are guardians" will be shown, and a discussion will follow the screening. for environmental protection, connecting the challenges of the Amazon rainforest with the Ohrid-Struga region.
In order to explore the meaning of activism and sustainable practices for the protection of the natural environment, the speakers of the discussion will be Darko Kytanoski ("Eco-awareness" - Vevcani), Naum Ilieski ("Eco-awareness" - Vevcani) and Vladimir Trajanovski (SOS) – Ohrid).
The debate will be in the Macedonian language (with the possibility of translation into Albanian), while the screening of the film is with English subtitles.
The documentary "We are guardians" by Edivan Guajara, Chelsea Green and Rob Grobman is the heart-wrenching story of a diverse group of indigenous people trying to save what's left of the Brazilian Amazon. The film expertly dissects the economic drivers that drive massive environmental destruction, while exposing the corruption and partisan politics that make it possible.
The screening of the documentary film and the debate are held in cooperation with "Movies that Matter" and "Europe House Struga", and are supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in North Macedonia. Entrance to the screening is free for all interested visitors.
