On the highway between Zagreb and Karlovac during the night there were large riots and clashes between the Croatian police and the fans of Hajduk, the popular "Torcida", during which firearms were used.

According to Croatian media, several hundred fans and police officers took part in the riot, and two people were injured after police used firearms to calm the situation.
A dozen police officers were also injured, they report the media in Croatia.

Croatian police say that during the organized surveillance of 1.600 Hajduk fans who arrived in Zagreb by bus, van and own car to attend the derby match against Dinamo Zagreb, on their way back to Split, they stopped on their own initiative to take the A1 highway to the resort. And thus blocked the highway to Karlovac.

In doing so, they heeded the warnings and orders of the police, after which several hundred fans attacked the police officers. Police also used firearms, injuring two people.
