From 80 to 120 calls per day are realized depending on the day, we help others who call with advice. High temperatures affect every organism and no one knows what it carries inside - they say in the Emergency Medical Service.

From 200 to 250 calls and hundreds of interventions per day, the Emergency Medical Service records this period. The sick and the healthy are equally affected by the infernal heat, but according to Dr. Milica Bubalo, head of the Emergency Medical Service, the high temperatures have an extremely bad effect on the health of pregnant women and the chronically ill.

- From 80 to 120 calls per day are realized depending on the day, we help others who call with advice. High temperatures affect every organism and no one knows what it carries inside, so even completely healthy people can experience a heat stroke caused by high temperatures. Chronically ill citizens must take their therapy regularly and must call their family doctor if they notice that they do not respond to the therapy. To pay attention to regular hydration of the body, to wear light pieces of clothing made of cotton material and in bright colors, and also to consume light food - recommends Dr. Bubalo.

She puts special emphasis on pregnant women and advises them not to go out between 10 and 17 o'clock.

Pregnant women should not go out outdoors between 10 am and 17 pm. Also, workers who are exposed to manual labor should be relieved of their responsibilities in the same period of time, says Dr. Bubalo.

The warm weather will continue in the next period. Sunny and very hot weather with a high UV index is forecast by meteorologists in the coming days.

The Ministry of Health also issued recommendations to be careful during the stay outdoors.

- Due to the high temperatures that have recently affected the territory of the country, the Ministry of Health appeals to citizens to respect the general recommendations for health protection, and especially to be careful and take appropriate measures to protect against UV radiation. If the UV index is higher than 8, be sure to use a cream with a high protection factor and a hat, as well as be careful when moving outdoors, preferably in the shade. UV radiation and heat are strongest in the period between 10 and 14 o'clock and it is recommended to be as little as possible sun exposure during that period. At the same time, visitors to the beach should keep in mind that white sand and other bright surfaces reflect UV radiation and can double the radiation exposure, according to the Ministry of Health.

Therefore, they emphasize that during extremely hot days you should stay indoors (above all, air-conditioned), and during the necessary stay outdoors in this period, to find the opportunity for more frequent vacations in the shade. When entering a vehicle, it is necessary to ventilate it for a certain period.

"The Ministry of Health together with the Commission for monitoring the effects of high temperatures at the Ministry, continuously and on a daily basis monitor the situation and if there is an increase in temperatures according to the announcements of the Hydrometeorological Administration, appropriate preventive measures will be proposed" - added the Ministry .
