Anti-Semitic incidents increase in Germany after Hamas attacks Israel
A group that monitors anti-Semitism in Germany says it has documented a dramatic 7 percent increase in anti-Semitic incidents in the country in the month since Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 320.
RIAS Group says it has registered 994 incidents, which is an average of 29 incidents per day and a 320% increase compared to the same time period in 2022, the Associated Press reported.
The group looked at the time period from October 7 to November 9.
The incidents included three cases of extreme violence, 72 cases of targeted property damage and more than 800 cases of abusive behaviour. In one of the worst incidents, a synagogue in Berlin was attacked in mid-October.
