An earthquake with a magnitude of 4,9 hit the southern Turkish province of Adana today, reports Anatolia.

The Turkish Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) said that the epicenter of the earthquake was registered in the Saybeyli district, at a depth of 6,67 kilometers.

The tremor was felt across a wider region of southern Turkey, which was hit by a series of devastating earthquakes in February.

The governor of Adana, Suleiman Elban, told Anatolia that for now there is no information about the consequences of the earthquake and that the competent teams are on the ground.
