Zelensky on Erdogan's visit: A strong message of support from a strong state
"A strong message of support from a strong state," said the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski described today's visit of the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Ukraine.
Today, Zelenski had a bilateral conversation with his Turkish guest, after which a trilateral meeting was held with the Secretary General of the UN Antonio Guterres. The meeting of the three leaders lasted about 40 minutes, and a joint press conference is currently being held.
According to the Turkish television station "NTV", Zelensky indicated that he discussed with the Turkish president the possibilities of upgrading the initiative to export grain through Ukrainian ports, as well as the situation around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
"Strengthening our cooperation will lead to the strengthening of both countries", the Ukrainian president emphasized.
At the meeting in Lviv, an agreement was signed between Turkey and Ukraine for the reconstruction of the infrastructure damaged in the war, "NTV" reports.
The television states that at the bilateral meeting the presidents discussed all aspects of the relations between Ankara and Kyiv at the strategic level.
On the Turkish side, the Zelenski-Erdogan-Guterres trilateral meeting in Lviv was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu, the head of the MIT intelligence service Hakan Fidan and the president's spokesman and advisor Ibrahim Kalan.
