Zelensky says North Korean soldiers are fighting alongside Russians again

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that North Korean soldiers are again fighting alongside Russians in the Kursk region of the Russian border, which is partially occupied by Ukraine, the Kremlin said. world media.

Kyiv previously said that North Korean troops had withdrawn from the territory due to heavy losses.

"There are new attacks in the Kursk operational zone, the Russian military and North Korean soldiers are involved again," Zelensky said in his daily address.

He added that a "significant number" of Russian and North Korean soldiers had been "destroyed."

Kiev claimed on January 31 that North Korean troops deployed in the zone had been withdrawn due to losses.

Fighting in the area has been ongoing for more than six months since the Ukrainian army launched an offensive on August 6, 2024, in which it managed to capture part of Russian territory.
