Zelensky: Ukraine will no longer pay for illusory promises of peace with its sovereignty
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said at the celebration of Ukraine's Veterans Day that his country will no longer pay with the future of its children and its sovereignty for "illusory promises of peace".
- Today, the modern generations of Ukrainians, you and all those who are now defending our country and people, our freedom and independence, have the opportunity to achieve more than we could before. Our defense of Ukraine against Russian invasion is based on the historically greatest unity of our society ever. For the unity we value. Ukraine enjoys historically the largest support in the world. And never again will Ukraine pay with the future of its children, its sovereignty and its will for illusory promises of peace. Ukraine has made historical conclusions, Zelensky stressed.
Zelensky awarded awards to the soldiers, and honorary titles, honors and battle flags to the military units, and participated in the swearing in of the students of the Military Academy.
The celebration of the Day of Veterans of Ukraine was held at the National Historical and Architectural Museum of Kyiv Fortecia (Kyiv Fortress).
