The resocialization department at the "Skopje Prison" KPU is not sufficiently staffed, which calls into question the process of successful resocialization of convicted persons, and there is no designated person to check the quality of food before the distribution of meals, according to the audit report of the State Institute for audit of KPU "Prison Skopje" Skopje for 2020.

The auditors also determined that no accounting record has been established for the material assets available to the institution.

Key recommendations of the State Audit Office are that adequate staffing of the Resocialization Department is necessary, as well as the responsible person taking measures to ensure that the persons appointed to inspect the food act according to their duties.

The State Audit Office issues an unfavorable opinion regarding the truthfulness and objectivity of the financial statements and an opinion with a reservation on the compliance of the financial transactions for the account of the basic budget for the year 2020 of KPU "Zatvor Skopje" Skopje.

Regarding the account of the budget from self-financing activities for the year 2020 of KPU "Zatvor Skopje" Skopje, the SAO expresses an opinion without reservation regarding the objectivity of financial reports and the compliance of financial transactions with the relevant legal regulation.
