The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, said today in Kyiv that the agency considers the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant to be a Ukrainian facility, British media reports.

The Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is located in the city of Energodar and has been under the control of Russian forces since March.

Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday signed a decree ordering the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant to be placed under Russian ownership.

The IAEA said earlier that Grossi would discuss the creation of a buffer zone around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant this week in Moscow and Kyiv. sd/
