The naval exercises of the Russian Navy "Ocean-2024" began today, and more than 400 warships, submarines and auxiliary ships will participate in them, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced.

"The maneuvers, which will take place in the waters of the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, the Mediterranean, the Caspian and the Baltic Seas, will involve more than 400 warships, submarines and auxiliary fleet vessels," the statement said.

More than 120 aircraft and helicopters of the naval aviation of the Navy and the Air Force will participate in the exercises, and about seven thousand pieces of weapons, military and special equipment, as well as more than 90 thousand people will be involved.

The strategic command and staff exercise "Ocean-2024" will last until September 16.
