The City of Skopje started cleaning the illegal dump beside Lake Treska in the Municipality of Saraj. This landfill covers an area of 10.000 square meters with more than 5.000 cubic meters of waste dumped by unscrupulous legal entities and individuals in this area.

The landfill in Saraj is one of the largest landfills on the territory of the City of Skopje, which is constantly burning and thus releasing harmful emissions into the air, as well as polluting the soil and groundwater. In this way, the environment is seriously endangered, but above all it is a serious threat to the health of the citizens living in the Municipality of Saraj and the Municipality of Gjorce Petrov.

Cleaning of all illegal landfills, but also constant controls and inspections will continue to be a daily activity of the City of Skopje. This is a priority on which the city and public enterprises are actively working, in order to ensure a healthy environment, with more greenery and clean air for the residents of Skopje.
