The 15th edition of "Makedox" has started: this year's festival is under the motto "Digging emotions through time"
The jubilee 15th edition of the festival of creative documentary film "Makedox" will be held from August 15 to 22 in the traditional spaces of Kurshumli an, Museum of Macedonia, Suli an, MKC and the new space "Laboratorium" in Skopje. The festival will be held under the motto "Digging emotions through time".
This year's themed segment "Country in Focus" focuses on the cinematographic archives of several countries. Films from the Central State Film Archive of Albania, the Croatian State Archive, the National Film Institute of Hungary, the Slovenian Cinematheque, the Archive of the Yugoslav Cinematheque, the Montenegrin Cinematheque, the National Film Archive of Bulgaria, the National Film Archive of Romania and the Cinematheque of North Macedonia will be shown.
This year's edition of the "MakeCoProDox" forum will be held from August 19 to 21 in Skopje. The moderators and mentors of the forum will be Helle Hansen (consultant for documentary films, former representative for documentaries of the Norwegian and Danish Institute), Brigid O'Shea (co-founder of the Documentary Association of Europe), Zeynep Guzel (head of the Doc Station at the Berlinale Talent Program, senior consultant at the Documentary Society of Europe) and producer Victor Ede (Cinephage Productions) from France.
This year "Macedox" has a significant cooperation with the French Institute and the French Embassy, with a panel between the representatives of the Balkan film centers and producers from France, where the co-production agreements between the Balkan countries and France will be discussed. With an emphasis on documentary archives, Doc Industry Director of the Doc Leipzig Festival, Nadja Tenste, will present work on the professional archive market. There will also be a presentation of "Dokumentarnica", a laboratory for the development of documentary films from Slovenia, created by the Slovenian Film Center and the Association of Directors from Slovenia - said Sara Fero, head of the industrial program of "Makedocs".
In addition to film screenings, Makedox will host a variety of special events, including panel discussions, Q&As with filmmakers, and workshops. These events are designed to facilitate dialogue and knowledge exchange, enriching the festival experience for industry professionals and film lovers.
