President Stevo Pendarovski's request to the Government to ban MEP Angel Dzambaski and other Bulgarian citizens from entering Macedonia yesterday provoked a reaction from several Bulgarian politicians, and BSP Vice President Kristijan Vigenin even called on the authorities and parties in our country "to refrain from statements that they do not lead to solving the problems, but to an unacceptable escalation".

After the session of the Security Council yesterday afternoon, President Pendarovski said that he requested the entry ban in accordance with the Law on Foreigners because of the actions that those persons take against our country, without specifying who they are, but from his description it can be concluded that he means the radical Angel Dzambaski and Viktor Stojanov from the Bulgarian foundation "Macedonia".

According to SDSM Pendarovski's request is in order, according to VMRO-DPMNE is overdue, and according to analysts, unnecessary, because it will not bring anything good for us.

Relations deteriorated

Except that called the Macedonian authorities Yes refrain from statements what they can long-term yes worsen the dialogue between the two countries, Vigenin announced that his party will insist on the beating of Hristijan Pendikov from Ohrid to be informed the Council of Europe and the OSCE.

- The events of the last few days in the relations between North Macedonia and Bulgaria confirm the correctness of the position of the BSP not to support the lifting of the veto for the EU membership negotiations - he said after the hearing of Technical Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Milkov was postponed in the Bulgarian Assembly Sofia's relations with Skopje due to his absence.

Milkov behindyesterday in Brussels on meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries-chicks he informed his colleagues "about the deteriorating situation in RS Macedonia in relation to citizens with Bulgarian national feeling", with an emphasis on the "serious incident in Ohrid", whereby expressed regret that this "serious incident is part of most similar events of an anti-Bulgarian character in recent months".

The leader of the radical party "Prerodba" Kostadin Kostadinov yesterday he repeated that Macedonia should be vetoed for EU entry.

- Macedonia has always shown that when it embarks on a line of confrontation with Bulgaria, it is ready to go all the way. A big dilemma is how far our country will go - said Kostadinov, who, regarding the latest development of events, is asking for a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of NATO, because "someone is trying to bring Bulgaria and Macedonia into Russia - the Ukrainian scenario".

Appeals for restraint

The analyst Albert Musliu says that the veto is a done deal for now.

- When Bulgaria could block us, it did so. It will next be able to veto us, like any other member state, when we finish the EU membership negotiations, and until then that possibility has been nullified by the negotiating framework. Those from Sofia threaten, but the Bulgarians are Balkan politicians, they are not Nordic politicians and they give blanket statements - says Musliu for "Free Press".

Regarding the announced ban on the blaze of MEP Dzambaski, Musliu believes that such a move is not necessary.

- Our side should refrain from escalating relations with Sofia and not make statements that will cause relations to deteriorate. Deterioration does not suit us at all, because, although she cannot veto us, Sofia will find a way to make our path to the EU more difficult. They are more powerful, they are a member state and they will always invent various reasons to make it difficult for us. So, it is wise at this point to refrain and try to fulfill our strategic goal with the negotiations with the EU - says Musliu.

Albert Musliu, political analyst / Morning briefing

He adds that maybe President Pendarovski is right, but he asks what benefit we will have, apart from the fact that we will surely raise even more tensions.

– Will the ban change Djambaski, will we change his mind? We will only strengthen his positions and he will collect points before the Bulgarian radicals. Which, by the way, they don't like in Bulgaria. We saw how Krasimir Karakachanov, who led an anti-Macedonian campaign, did not enter the parliament, so Bulgarian citizens do not want to deal with such topics. Why then should we enable them to be loud? - says Musliu.

Pendarovski behindyesterday indicated that the legal conditions for the sentencing of entry ban existed before: threat to public order, threat to national security or threat to international relations of the state. That means, the president said, if such persons are outside the country, they will not be allowed to enter, and аif they are already inside, their stay will be canceled and they will be declared persona non grata.

The Vice President of SDSM Stefan Bogoev said he believed that “everyone they felt uncomfortable after the events and statements made by Dzambaski and his group during the celebration of Mara Buneva and SDSM it's generally along the same lines as what the president said.

Stefan Andonovski from VMRO-DPMNE said that the president is known for trivial appearances, for things that are not in his competence, that is, it should have been the same day when Djambaski denied Macedonia being declared persona non grata и sent to the border, and the MFA to send a reaction to European Parliament, and now it is late and it is zdeceiving the public.

Djambaski, and again yesterday he continued with the provocations and on Facebook wrote:

"Macedonia was and is Bulgarian. North Macedonia is something else, it is thanks to Tito. By banning you from entering the country, you will not delete it the truth."
