Political youth should be a service for young people, not for the leaders and management of political parties. As young people, you are expected to produce ideas that will improve the life and standard of young people in this country. Therefore, as political youths, it is necessary in your parties to lobby among your officials, MPs, for your youth initiatives and ideas to become reality, LDP Vice-President Monika Zajkova said today from Ohrid at the conference "Strengthening the capacities of the youth wings of political parties" organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) in collaboration with RYCO and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.

-Unfortunately, until now, all the political youths united only once when the "Law on Youth Policies and Youth Participation" was created and passed, and it was successful, but not only for this, here and for many other issues, unification is needed to show citizenship among young people. LIDEM, as a political youth, succeeded in uniting political parties by initiating the Law on subsidized student meals. That's why I appeal to anyone who has an idea as a political youth to present it to other political youths and the youth sector and to deliver it to the institutions and insist on its implementation, said Zajkova.

She asked why, for example, for the idea of a student city that originated from LIDEM as a junior, all juniors should not sit at the table, agree together and lobby for it to become a reality from which all students will benefit.

- Enough with negative campaigns, about what and who did or didn't do, let's not look back, let's look forward, we need real fresh and new youth initiatives. Honestly, we are all aware that, for example, the conditions in the student dormitories are not at the required level and that although some progress has been made, they still need to be improved, so why don't all the young people unite and make a plan and request the parties to really improve conditions and opportunities, instead of blaming who did more and who did less, said Zajkova.

She reminded that the Youth Club in the Parliament is open to all youth organizations and individuals and that it is necessary to include political youth in certain debates in order to give greater importance to youth and youth policy.

– Young people must press politicians with ideas and objective critical thought. We are the generations that should change the level of political debate and rhetoric, a generation that should unite. Only with openness to cooperation, reasoned debate, initiatives and projects will we build a partnership between politicians, institutions and young people. Through a different approach, let's motivate young people to stay at home, but also create opportunities through which we will attract young people from other countries to live, study and work in Macedonia, she said.
