Zakharova: Russia will do everything for an IAEA mission to visit the Zaporizhzhya nuclear plant
Spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Marija Zaharova said today that Russia will do everything necessary to have experts from the International Nuclear Energy Agency (IAEA) visit the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant.
She condemned "attempts to obstruct the arrival of the mission".
"We strongly condemn the attempts to obstruct the arrival of the mission." In close cooperation with the IAEA and its leadership, we will do everything necessary for the Agency's experts to visit the nuclear power plant and give a true assessment of the destructive actions of the Ukrainian side," Zakharova pointed out.
She added that official Kyiv understands "inappropriate statements that come one after another from the European Union in an attempt to win imaginary political points" as a "green light" to create obstacles for the arrival of the IAEA mission in Zaporozhye.
