Moscow will respond with strikes against British targets if Ukraine uses British weapons to attack Russian territory, said the spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.

British targets "on the territory of Ukraine and beyond its borders" could be hit in such a scenario, Zakharova said.

She repeated Moscow's warning, which was issued earlier this month after British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said Ukraine had the right to use British weapons to attack targets in Russia.

Russia reacted with indignation to the statement and cited it as one of the reasons it decided to hold exercises this month to simulate the launch of tactical nuclear missiles.

Maria Zakharova also stated that Moscow does not build military alliances or blocs, including with China.
