The simultaneous sessions of the highest party bodies of SDSM and Alteranitiva, scheduled for tonight, in both parties are interpreted as a signal that Prime Minister Zoran Zaev will activate the resignation of the party president, because he secured a parliamentary majority, ie that Alternative is about to enter The government.

- Zaev will formally resign tomorrow, which means that he believes that he has secured a majority of at least 61 MPs. "The hopes are that the parliamentary majority will further grow with the four Alternative MPs," a senior official in the prime minister's office told Sloboden Pecat.

The expectations of SDSM officials are that most of the members of the Executive and Central Board of the party will try again to postpone the resignation of the leader, because there is still no majority, which was Zaev's argument that he remains president until he consolidates the majority. Zaev's counter-argument would be that he secured a majority and that he does not deviate from the resignation, which is expected to be accepted tonight by the Central Board of SDSM.

If this is realized, the procedure for electing a new party president begins. According to the party statute, after the resignation, the deadline of 15 days for announcing intra-party elections for a new president of SDSM begins. The new president will be elected in direct elections, by secret ballot for all registered members. The meeting is expected to set a date for the election of a new leader.

According to Zeav, the new party leader will have to be the prime minister-designate of the new government. The most serious candidate for a new leader of SDSM is Dimitar Kovacevski, Deputy Minister of Finance and member of the Executive Board of the party. Zaev promoted Kovacevski at the meeting with Gashi, which was publicly interpreted to be his successor.

So far, there is no information whether there will be other candidates for leader of SDSM besides Kovacevski, but it is certain that none of the current party leadership will run for the leading position in the party. After Zaev's resignation, the entire party leadership will resign.

The meeting of the Central Presidency of Alternative, on the other hand, will start one hour before the meeting of the Executive Board of SDSM. The party says that the decision will not be valid, but that it will be a direction for the Central Assembly, which will have to decide whether Alternative will become part of the government. At the meeting, Gashi will report on the meeting with Zaev, the arguments "for" and "against" joining the Government will be on the table. Unofficially, the arguments are that the arguments for Alternative to become part of the government and the parliamentary majority will prevail. The coincidence of the meetings of the two parties, according to Alternative, is a sign, as they say, that "things are set in the right place".

The party also briefs that the entry into the Government will be conditioned by the program commitments of Alternative, ie by the priorities of the party that Gashi presented to Zaev at the meeting last week.

- If it is decided to give directions to be part of the Government, priority will be given to the goals of the Alternative program. My condition will be that the fabricated court cases be one of the main factors of the intergovernmental agreement - says the MP Skender Rexhepi from Alternative.

As "Free Press" has already reported, Gashi at the meeting with Zaev stated seven to eight demands as a condition for entering the Government, including no deviation from the European integration process, justice, ie retrials for, according to them, several politically mounted cases. for which there should be foreign expertise. Among the demands are the development of the Lipkovo Region, to provide money and assistance for a third child, changes in the legal procedure related to the enforcement agents, but also regulation of the sphere with the casinos, ie restrictions - where and how many betting shops to have.
