- The pride is great, but the honor to be with you today is even greater. Even more so, when in a year when we mark the significant jubilee 80 years of the People's Uprising and of course 73 years since the founding of the Union of Fighters and all that within the 30th anniversary of the independence of our country. In turbulent times on the world historical stage, you have taken on a historic role. You have recognized that there is a moment ahead of you that must not be missed. You started an anti-fascist uprising and started the National Liberation Struggle, from which our country was born. A state, which was targeted by men and women, members of the partisan detachments of the People's Anti-Fascist Liberation Movement, said Prime Minister Zaev in his address at yesterday's meeting with representatives of the Union.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the feat and achievement of the invaluable work, ie the Macedonian statehood of the generation that achieved the centuries-old aspirations and dreams of many previous generations, Zaev told the fighters and supporters of their work that as Prime Minister, he always insisted on these meetings not just a formality and protocol.

- I can not allow your work, the legacy you left us to be marked only as a formality. Each meeting with you inspired me to ask myself questions: How to preserve what we have inherited and how to make Northern Macedonia a better country, a more beautiful place to live? How can we take a step further in gaining freedom for all our citizens? Such questions and directions inspire your work, said Prime Minister Zaev.

He stressed that as a result of the struggle of the National Liberation War fighters, today we have the Republic of Northern Macedonia, an internationally recognized state with all the postulates of statehood, a member of the United Nations, a NATO member whose Macedonian flag flies in Brussels and no one can to challenge the Macedonian language and the Macedonian identity as a peculiarity, authentic for this people and for this country.
