Zaev: For a whole decade Skopje was among the most polluted cities, today the pollution is dramatically reduced

For a whole decade, Skopje was among the most polluted cities. Today air pollution has dropped dramatically, you can see for yourself that pollution was almost never a topic this fall and this winter. There are always results when measures are taken. That is certainly not enough, and the City, the institutions will continue in this direction, said the Prime Minister and leader of SDSM, Zoran Zaev, at the civic forum "The best for our municipality", which was held in Skopje.

He stressed that the state is behind the new concept of public transport in Skopje, which is a capital project for the city, and announced several other projects and plans to improve the city.

- Through the Investment Intervention Plan we finance the construction of a wastewater treatment plant here in Skopje, an investment of 136 million euros, 120 million denars or two million euros for the reconstruction of the Universal Hall, the cult building for Skopje for Skopje and all citizens of our state. From the central budget we finance the construction of a new bridge and junction in Momin Potok worth six million euros, said Zaev.

These projects, he said, cost 150 million euros, and mean improving the lives of Skopje residents, solving some of their needs.

- Just imagine how many such projects would have been realized if not more than 600 million euros had been wasted on facades, monuments, palm trees, galleys and fake baroque as much as the regime spent on only two square kilometers. And the same ones, Mickoski and VMRO-DPMNE are talking about Skopje today? For 11 years they have been harassing the people of Skopje, changing the face of the buildings, the face of the city without any announcements and consultations. Now they are being harassed again by the people of Skopje and the people who work here through unreasonable roadblocks. Why? In order to fulfill Mickoski's whims to keep his fear of the success of the state, said the Prime Minister and leader of SDSM Zaev.
