Zaev: If some of the orders are canceled, the next to be ordered will be the "Sputnik" vaccines
We have ordered as many vaccines against covid-19 as the Health Commission says they estimate is sufficient for collective immunization to be achieved in the general population. So we have definitely taken steps, we have signed contracts, we have paid somewhere in advance or something like that to provide those quantities. This was stated today by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.
- If we continue to order "Sputnik" vaccines, the next one is probably "Astra Zeneka", then new quantities from "Pfizer", then new quantities from "Sinofarm" and we will find that there are five million vaccines in the country. This is unacceptable due to the rationality and purposeful spending of public money. That is why we have made agreements as much as we need in accordance with the national plan for vaccination of citizens in the Republic of Northern Macedonia. If part of the orders are canceled and part of the order is canceled, the next to be ordered will probably be the "Sputnik" vaccines, said Zaev, answering a journalist question after the opening of the new European House in Strumica.
As a NATO member, in consultation with the strategic partners of the country, the Prime Minister said, vaccination is a sovereign right of every country and there are absolutely no geostrategic or geopolitical repercussions because it is about health, it is about the health of citizens and we absolutely do not have no reserves.
- I publicly announce it to any vaccine that has been confirmed by international health organizations, and even by the national health authorities of the producing countries that are like all friends of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, added Zaev.
