The coordinator of "Open Balkans" in the Government, Marjan Zabrchanec, announced for Belgrade's "Politika" that an identification number will soon be activated for the citizens of North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia, thanks to which they will be able to work in the private sector in any of the those three countries.

- Very soon an identification number will be activated for the citizens of the "Open Balkans" (OB ID number), thanks to which they will be able to work smoothly in the private sector in any of these three countries, without nostrification of diplomas, waiting for work permits and any other administrative barriers, Zabrchanec told "Politics".

As reported by the MIA correspondent from Belgrade, he added that the preparations for establishing a single electronic system for the collection of tolls in all three countries are in the final stage.

- We are facing a difficult winter in terms of energy and economy, that's why "Open Balkans" has been mobilized at the level of crisis working groups to ensure that each of the three countries will pass the cold days easily, said Zabrcanec.

He points out that the relations between Serbia and Albania are the best ever, as well as the relations between North Macedonia and Albania.

According to him, a significant step forward was made with the establishment of a working group aimed at establishing a joint investment agency "Open Balkans", which had its first meetings during the International Wine Fair that was recently held in Belgrade.

Zabrchanec says that the process of creating a joint investment portfolio as a market of over 12 million citizens with all the human, economic and natural potential that the states possess together has begun.

- The goal is clear, to offer ourselves to the big investors from the USA, as well as to attract the EU and the world as a region where they can expand their business ventures, adds Zabrchanec.

According to him, "Open Balkans" has a clear political goal, which is for each of the countries from the Western Balkans to become a member of the EU, and this initiative is primarily European and cannot be a substitute for the EU.

He indicated that "Open Balkan" brings concrete results, tangible benefits for companies and citizens, facilitated movement, business, assistance between countries in conditions of energy crisis and food crisis, as well as assistance in case of natural disasters, without at the same time to obstruct any other initiative.
