The Board of Directors of the Kosovo Energy Regulator (REK) decided today that from April 1, the price of electricity in Kosovo will increase by 15,4 percent. The President of REC Imer Faizullahu stated that the price increase is necessary to ensure a 24-hour electricity supply to Kosovo.
"We think that if we don't have a stable supply, the cost will be much higher than this increase that is proposed, this is the minimum to have 24 hours of electricity," Faizullahu said.
The new tariffs, he added, will be valid until March 31 next year, provided there are no requests for additional price increases.
