Despite the numerous opportunities and natural resources available to Bosnia and Herzegovina, it relies on importing what it has in abundance, such as water and certain varieties of fruits and vegetables.

According to the data provided to the Klix.ba portal by the Administration for Indirect Taxes of BiH for Import and Export in the period of the first four months of this year and the previous year, we noticed that, as usual, the trend of import growth continued, while exports are in a slight decrease compared to the same period of 2022. In the first four months of this year, 63,6 million liters of water worth 75,2 million convertible marks were imported into BiH.

In the same time period, 27,2 million liters of water worth 13,3 million cubic meters were exported. and mostly from Serbia. For the same period last year, 61,8 million liters of water were imported.

The economic analyst Zoran Pavlovic attributes these import data to investments in marketing of companies from abroad, which is why they are successfully positioned on the market and become part of the consumer habits of our citizens.
