In one year, foreign investors withdrew about 36 billion dollars from Russia
Foreign investors through the sale of property from Russia withdrew about 36 billion dollars in the period from March 2022 to March this year, the Russian Central Bank said.
From March 2022 to March 2023, about 200 sales transactions were carried out, and in only one fifth of them was sold property worth more than 100 million dollars, the Central Bank noted.
A number of major Western companies have abandoned or scaled back operations in Russia after the West responded to Russia's invasion of Ukraine with heavy sanctions against Moscow.
Earlier, the Russian Central Bank said in a report on the stability of the financial system that only a small number of foreign companies had actually sold their business in Russia and that many had retained the right of return.
