The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vuќiќ, spoke tonight about the violence that occurred during the protests during the roadblock in цabac, writes B92.

He says the protests started with people attacking with hammers and axes.

"Those who were supposed to be naked people were armed and attacked people who did not break the law. People must know that walking the roads is not in accordance with the law and is against every law of all countries. "I endanger other people, whom I can share with them, but I do not share their views," Vucic said.

He states that the police must not provide any protest that blocks the roads, because it is not in accordance with the law.

"The police should say that it is illegal, and that it does not take part in any illegal activities. "The whole responsibility lies with those who break the law and they will be held accountable," the president said.

"I have not signed the expropriation law yet"

Vuќi и also said that he had not signed the law on expropriation and that they were still studying its "full constitutionality", while the Law on Referendum was in line with the Constitution and the recommendations of the Venice Commission.

We remind you that on November 27, several thousand Serbian citizens took part in the blockade of the main roads across the country, as well as in protest marches in Belgrade.

The protest, organized by several environmental associations, civic initiatives and opposition parties, called for a halt to projects deemed harmful to the environment, including the Rio Tinto project, and for the Serbian president not to sign amendments to the Expropriation Law.

These changes enable the state to confiscate privately owned property under an urgent procedure, with shortened deadlines, and to pay compensation to the owner - if the confiscation of the property is necessary due to projects of public interest.
