Vucic called a meeting due to the protest against lithium mining

Serbian media reports that President Aleksandar Vucic called a meeting tonight about the situation of the protest against lithium mining and the blockade of the Prokop and Novi Belgrade railway stations.

They state that there is a meeting "about this crisis" in the Presidency, and a crisis headquarters is in session.

"Vucic will make a decision in the coming hours on how to resolve this situation," writes Politika.

We remind you that there is an ongoing blockade of the railway and the highway in Belgrade. Citizens are protesting because they don't want Rio Tinto to start lithium mining in Serbia.

At tonight's protest in Belgrade against lithium mining, according to currently available material, approximately 40.000 people gathered, the Archive of Public Meetings said.
