The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said today that Europe and the world are facing a difficult period and that it is important for members of the police to secure every inch of Serbia so that every town and village is secure, and all citizens of Serbia are safe, reported the MIA correspondent from Belgrade.

Vucic warned that the security situation in the world is threatened and that it will be even more difficult in the future.

- We live in a world where there is no security, no stability, and it is not easy to see what will happen by the end of the year, let alone plan much for the future. That's why we have to think about our country and be well prepared for every possible scenario. Let's understand well what is happening in the world, what is happening in Europe and where is our Serbia in all this, Vucic said during the speech at the central ceremony on the occasion of the Day of the Ministry of Interior and the Police.

The President of Serbia indicated that in recent years, as a result of climate change, there are frequent fires both in Serbia and in the region.

- It is very important to be ready to put out fires everywhere. That's why we bought two of the most modern, state-of-the-art Russian helicopters. That is why we are buying additional equipment for our firefighters, because I am sure that we will have that work not only in Serbia during the summer months, but also in the entire region, said Vucic.

He pointed out that Serbia has the highest growth rate in all of Europe.

- We have 4,7 percent, the highest growth rate in the whole of Europe in the first quarter of this year. Malta is second with 4,6 percent. This is a good thing and means that we will continue with the modernization of the police, said Vucic.
