The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, commented on the current situation in Kosovo and the events of May 29 during his guest appearance on TV Prva's "Prva Tema" show.

He said that the conflict was started by the Kosovo police, not NATO.

"Before this show, five advisers who deal with the matter and whose duty it is to point out my mistakes, told me not to be squeamish and not to be pessimistic. I think these pictures are horrible and deliberately chosen against the Serbs, because they don't show who started the conflict. It was not NATO that started it, but the Kosovo police," said Vucic about the footage of the recent conflict between local Serbs and KFOR members in Zvecan and added:

"Everyone in the West knows that Pristina is guilty and that Kurti is guilty. We have nothing to gain from that, because he knows that whatever he does, the Americans, the British and the Germans will be in favor of preserving the so-called independence of Kosovo and not allowing the Serbs to threaten the territorial integrity of Kosovo," added Vucic.

Vucic pointed out that Kurti allegedly "wants Serbia and NATO to enter into a conflict" and added that this is not in Serbia's interest.

He said that yesterday's conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was a "very difficult conversation".

- It was my sharpest performance, but civilized," claimed Vucic.

When asked if the solution is to go to new local elections, Vucic replied that he "doesn't know what to say". "Let me negotiate, we will talk only from Tuesday," said Vucic.

We have to see what our people will get, if there is something to get, we are always ready for compromises", said Vucic and added that "difficult days" are ahead.

Speaking about the inclusion to CNN, Vucic said the interview was "technically complicated" for him.

"I didn't even see the presenter, I could only listen through the speaker, and I couldn't hear that very well either, so I guessed the questions based on some words. "It was a small technical problem," said Vucic.

He also referred to the protest in support of the Kosovo Serbs at Autokomanda after the violence in Zvečan.

"They will not go to Rudare to protest, but they will go to Autokomanda," said Vucic.
