The rapporteur of the European Parliament for Serbia, Tonino Pitsula, also gave a speech at the beginning of the plenary session in which he expressed regret for the victims of the tragedy in Novi Sad and pointed out that the citizens organized protests demanding justice and responsibility.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic commented on his speech:

“As for Tonin Pizzula, well. He is a very rude man who does not love our country, who will say he loves it, but wants to be a supporter of Croatia and never fights for his national interests," said Vucic and added:

"I don't care what he says, he will have partners in Belgrade with whom he will talk," reports Nova.rs.

He added that he would not talk to Pizzula "until he apologizes for what he said."
