The Serbian president Aleksandar Vuќi. stated today that he is satisfied that the European Parliament (EP) did not accept the proposal to stop the accession negotiations with Serbia due to the position on the war in Ukraine, but also that official Belgrade will continue to behave in accordance with the interests of the state, the MIA correspondent reported from Belgrade.

"There were attempts by some members of the EP to vote for the termination of negotiations with Serbia. We are glad that it was not voted, because it would have been wrong, and thanks to the majority in the EP that did not accept it... But I once said – let everyone do their job. If they think that we should beg someone for something - we won't," Vucic told reporters in Ivanjica.

He said that it is very important that Serbia is on the European path, but it is also important that it has freedom and the right to think about its interests.

Vucic said that it is increasingly difficult for him to talk to many people on the world political stage because many of them believe that they are at war and that there are no conversations even about some obvious things.

The President of Serbia denied media reports that his meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was arranged in Brussels, although he added that Serbia does not run away from dialogue, because it wants peace and development, not conflicts.
