The Serbian president Aleksandar Vuќi. addressed the public for the first time since the interior minister Alexander Vulin announced that the Ministry of Interior has been officially informed about the existence of a criminal group that aims to assassinate the Serbian president in February.

Vuќi обја explained that he had received information about the planned assassination on 14 January and that an EU country had sent that information to the Serbian authorities.

- They gave a lot of details about that. I think people do not care too much, they have their own problems. "I think it is not of special importance to people," Vucic said.

Asked if he was concerned about information about the assassination, President Vucic said it was the job of the authorities.

- I saw seven names in that letter. The competent authorities will take all measures to prevent this. That EU country was very correct, very fair. "Our people are working, they have issued arrest warrants for certain people because they wrote who should send the weapons to whom, who should take them, etc." against the criminal group.

He stressed that it is important to preserve stability, the state to continue to fight drug cartels, to protect people and all to be equal before the law.

"I am sure that we have done a lot with the big arrests of drug cartels in Serbia, and they can not function if they do not have the support of certain state structures on a larger scale. It is not about 10 million euros, but hundreds of millions and billions of euros. I have never seen or heard of any of those people whose names I got. This is not a personal matter. Also, destabilizing Serbia would be in the interest of many. "These are some possible reasons," he told TV Pink.
