After overturning last week's landmark Rohing v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion nationwide, the U.S. Supreme Court today overturned lower court rulings overturning three state-level abortion laws. All three laws, from Arizona, Arkansas and Indiana, were blocked by lower courts based on Row v. Wade in 1973 and the 1992 ruling confirming this.

That subsequent verdict, Planned Parenthood vs. Casey, was overturned as part of a June 24 court ruling confirming a Mississippi law banning abortion after the 15th week of pregnancy. A court on Thursday overturned a ruling blocking Arizona law. This law prohibits abortions due to genetic abnormalities of the fetus such as Down syndrome.

The court did the same with a similar Arkansas law banning abortions due to Down syndrome and an Indiana appeal. That federal state has called for the extension of state legislation requiring parents of minors seeking abortion to be notified.
