It is worth waiting for the speaker's chair

The former refer to the won majority in the Parliament, and the latter, on the other hand, to the "unwritten rule" that an Albanian should manage one of the three state functions.

The presidential post in the Parliament is the main "trophy" for which there is still no agreement in the negotiations for the distribution of portfolios between VMRO-DPMNE and the "Vredi" coalition in the new government. Both VMRO-DPMNE and "Vredi" attack the position of speaker, the former refer to the won absolute majority in the Parliament, the latter, on the other hand, to the "unwritten rule" that an Albanian should head one of the three state functions.

It is expected that VMRO-DPMNE and "Vredi" will finish the negotiations for the first echelon of the government this coming weekend, after which talks will follow with the ZNAM Movement, which, as announced by the leader and future mandate holder Hristijan Mickoski, will reach a two-thirds majority by the constitutive session.
Sources from the negotiating teams brief that the ministries of health or education, economy, culture and the vice prime minister's office for political system have been offered to the table for "Worth". Vredi, on the other hand, is looking for five or six portfolios, including the President of the Assembly, while VMRO-DPMNE offers four to five portfolios, excluding the Speaker's chair. VMRO-DPMNE is also planning its staff for the new ministries - for energy and for sports.

Mickoski has already informed that they secured 61 MPs and that after the re-voting tomorrow in seven polling stations in the Fifth and Sixth constituency, he hopes for 62 mandates. Unofficially, the three already "secured" deputies are from the coalition led by SDSM.

- VMRO-DPMNE as a political party that expects a number of over 61 representatives in the Parliament indicates that the positions we have as a subject with a stable majority does not bring us to a stable position when it comes to the election for the President of the Parliament. However, I will repeat, we will know precisely after the negotiations with the coalition partners, which are expected to be completed by the end of this week. Then it will be known who exactly will take the position of speaker in the Parliament - pointed out Gjoko Velkovski, the Technical Minister of Labor and Social Policy in a guest appearance on the "Sloboden Pechat" show.

Izet Majiti from the "Vredi" coalition, in a guest appearance on TV21, expressed the view that the position of the President of the Assembly is already a done deal.

- The negotiations are still ongoing, they are not closed. The priority was the programs, the economy, investments, but I think that the position of president of the Assembly belongs to "Vredi", and that is a done deal - said Majiti.

Talks are expected to begin between VMRO-DPMNE and ZNAM

After the division of ministries between VMRO-DPMNE and "Vredi", talks are expected to begin between VMRO-DPMNE and the ZNAM Movement. VMRO-DPMNE briefs that it is possible that ZNAM will be offered one ministerial position, although as they say, they may be offered second and third echelon positions. Unofficially, there are informal contacts even now, but I KNOW they have not yet received a formal invitation for negotiations. The party of Maxim Dimitrievski briefs that they are ready to talk with parties about possible participation in the government and that the party authorities have authorized a team for negotiations, consisting of the general secretary of the movement and vice presidents. From there, they add that for a decision to participate in Mickoski's government, it is crucial whether they will comply with the program platform of the future government, and that personnel solutions are secondary. They believe that VMRO-DPMNE, according to the mandates won, is in a position to dimension the management of the state. If during the negotiations they find the government program, they will be part of the government, otherwise cooperation on a wider platform is possible, everything depends on what VMRO-DPMNE will put on the table.

The SEC awarded the certificates for MPs

The State Election Commission (SEC) today awarded the certificates for MPs for the confirmed parliamentary mandates. The certificates were taken by authorized representatives from the Coalition led by VMRO-DPMNE, the Coalition led by SDSM, the Coalition "Vredi", ZNAM and Left. For DUI, the SEC has not yet confirmed whether they will pick up the certificates.
Gjorđija Sajkoski, general secretary of VMRO-DPMNE, after receiving the certificates from the SEC, said that he expects the Assembly to be formed by May 28, and the new government by the middle of June.

- Today, at the invitation of the SEC, we picked up the mandates of the deputies of VMRO-DPMNE and their certificates. With the receipt of the certificates, we expect the Assembly to be formed by May 28, and we expect to have the new government by the middle of June. We expect to have one more MP from IE5. I do not expect any problems during the voting. I expect that we will have one more candidate, one more deputy of VMRO DPMNE in IE5 - said Sajkoski.

There is no official position from the European Front as to why they did not pick up the certificates from the SEC. MP Skender Redzepi tells "Sloboden Pechat" that he sees no reason why they should not pick up the certificates.

– The battle for legitimacy in the Albanian municipalities ended on May 8. Now, as MPs, we have to responsibly stand on the defensive line for the received legitimacy - says Redzepi.
