The employees of the Ministry of the Interior will receive higher salaries

The proposal of the Ministry of the Interior for a linear increase of the existing salaries of the employees in the Ministry in the amount of 3.086 denars per employee in gross amount, starting with the salary for the month of March 2023, which will be paid in April, received the green light at today's government session.

The Minister Oliver Spasovski says that, together with the Macedonian Police Union, they succeeded in their commitment to ensure an increase in wages in order to comply with the growth of the minimum wage.

"In the style of the old wisdom 'quiet water floats on the shore', in cooperation with the Macedonian Police Union, we succeeded in our commitment to ensure an increase in wages for the employees of the Ministry of the Interior in order to comply with the growth of the minimum wage, and against all the speculations in daily political goals with which they tried to degrade and demotivate the Macedonian police, but also to underestimate the consistency in fulfilling the promises made by its leadership, says Spasovski.

He reminded that this is the fourth consecutive salary increase for an employee, taking into account last year's increase of five percent for all employees.

Previously, through the Budget of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2018 and 2019, salary increases were achieved for all employees. In addition to this, with a 30 percent salary increase, 100 people from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications were covered from 01.01.2020, in order to motivate these scarce staff to contribute to the functioning of the Ministry of the Interior in the positions for which they are hired, he adds. he.

He announced that with "housework" they paid bonus wages for over 150 hours of overtime work per year during 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and the collection of data for employees who worked over 150 hours of overtime is ongoing. on an annual level for 2022, which will amount to 31.859 denars in an individual amount - an increase of almost 40 percent of the amount of the bonus salary in 2017, which was 22.928 denars.
