Employees from Clinical Biochemistry remained on the street
Biljana Kostovska Until recently, she was employed as a counter worker at the Institute of Clinical Biochemistry, she tells "Sloboden Pechat" that she lost her job on August 30. According to her, simply, her contract was not extended and a new staff immediately came in her place. He suspects a party background to the whole event and says that she is not the only one, but that the same fate befell a biochemist, hygienists, laboratory workers and another clerk at the counter.
– Until August 31, we worked under a contract with the Institute of Clinical Biochemistry. We had an agreement until December 31. We hoped that after that we would stay permanently at work, we were waiting for solutions. But on August 30, the administration did not depart from the schedule without extending the contract. Counter workers, laboratory workers, hygienists, we do not have an extension of the contract. They pointed out the new schedule and that's how I realized I wasn't working anymore. Neither the director nor the head nurse explained what was happening, but I myself assessed that I no longer had a job, Kostovska told "Sloboden Pechat".
She added that she was employed in 2021, that she served between 200 and 300 patients a day with various referrals for multiple examinations, and that her work was very familiar. She cannot understand why a new staff should be brought in her place and learn everything from scratch, and she should remain on the street.
- I have been employed since May 31, 2021. There is too much work with patients at the counter, over 200 to 300 patients were served daily by me and two others at the counter. We entered referrals, everything that was needed, both private and public, we needed to know whether the referral was routine or urgent, we simply needed to know how the biochemistry department works. By 11:30 a.m. each day, we had already served between 200 and 300 patients. The salary was 25 thousand denars. After this, the director pointed out a monthly schedule in which I no longer exist, and two unknown persons are in my place and in the place of the removed colleague, Kostovska added.
The director of the Institute of Clinical Biochemistry, doctor Nikolina Grozdanovska, says for "Sloboden Pechat" that the contracts of these persons have expired, and previously they were extended several times.
We stress that everyone's contract has expired. The contracts are signed and archived according to law, that is, there is not a single terminated contract and all of them expired on August 31 of this year. The claims about any division on any basis are completely incorrect and in that direction we clarify that exactly a part of these people are still employed at the Clinic according to the needs. The quality and expertise of the staff is our imperative, and the goal is the advancement of the activity of the institute, and in no case will we allow any division on any basis. We emphasize that the hiring of the necessary staff is within the framework of legal regulations and based on expertise, competence and demonstrated work engagement, says Dr. Grozdanovska.
The answer also states that the Institute of Clinical Biochemistry cannot be held responsible for the long-standing problem with the unresolved status of employees with a contract of employment as a pre-existing condition and the long-term neglect of staff.
In the interest of objective information, we completely reject the allegations of "termination of employee contracts" as completely untrue, say the Clinic.
