Train catches fire in a tunnel in Tyrol, hundreds of passengers evacuated

Several hundred passengers had to be evacuated from a train that caught fire in a tunnel in the Austrian province of Tyrol. Emergency services said 370 passengers had to be evacuated from an overnight train traveling from Innsbruck to Amsterdam and Hamburg late last night.

According to emergency services, damage to the overhead line in the Terfens railway tunnel caused a fire in one or more vehicles carried by the train.

Police said about 50 people suffered minor injuries or smoke inhalation. There were no reports of serious injuries.
