The notorious Russian general who organized the torture of captured soldiers was killed in Ukraine
Major General Pavel Klimenko, commander of the 5th Donetsk Motorized Brigade, was killed in Ukraine.
The news of Klimenko's death was announced by the research portal "Vazhni Histoki" on its Telegram profile, noting that he died on Wednesday under still unclear circumstances.
The information was published by the Astra portal, stating that it was a man who organized a torture chamber for Russian soldiers in the Ukrainian region of Donetsk.
This is already the eighth Russian general who died in Ukraine.

"This is the 13th Russian general in the war against Ukraine so far. "Russian authorities have so far confirmed the death of only eight generals," the portal "Vazhnye Histoki" reported.
According to the information, Klimenko was born in Stavropol, and before the invasion of Ukraine he served in Crimea. In May 2024, he was promoted to the rank of Major General.
5th Brigade Torture Camp
"A month before that, the fighters of his brigade tortured to death an American citizen and participant in the war in Donbass (on the side of pro-Russian forces, eg. ed.) Russell Bentei. "After the murder, his body was blown up in an attempt to cover the tracks," the portal reported.
According to available information, four members of Klimenko's brigade are currently under investigation for Bentley's murder.
"According to Bentley's widow, Lyudmila, the suspects plan to re-sign contracts and return to the front," the portal writes.
In April, as stated, Klimenko's fighters also tortured the illegally mobilized music teacher Vladimir Frolov, who was disabled and requested demobilization for health reasons.
"He ended up in the 5th Brigade torture camp. The coroner said that Frolov died during the attack, but the relatives said that he was buried in a closed coffin, because the body was deformed by torture," the portal reported.
He lived like nothing, he died like a dog," the Astra West portal commented on Klimenko's death.
"According to our sources, the commanders of the 5th brigade established a real 'concentration camp' in the abandoned Petrovskaya mine in Donetsk," said Astra, which previously published the first and only video footage from the mine.
According to the information on the portal, the commanders forced the tortured soldiers to hand over their salaries and compensation for injuries, and some of them inflicted injuries on themselves for money.
Even badly wounded soldiers were forced to fight and participate in attacks.
"According to human rights activists, the commanders of the 5th brigade authorized 'their people' to take compensation for the death of soldiers on their behalf," the portal "Historically valid" reported.
