124 foreign nationals were detained in bars in Tetovo this year, most of them from Serbia and Albania
In nine months, 124 foreign nationals were discovered who were staying and working illegally, primarily in catering facilities in the Tetovo region. The women are mostly from the region (about two thirds of them are from Albania or Serbia), but also from more distant countries, said the MIA correspondent.
They were discovered in regular activities undertaken by the Tetovo police to detect and legally sanction foreign citizens, ie "citizens who stay unregistered or work in the area, most often in restaurants," said the SIA Tetovo.
- In the past nine months of this year, a total of 124 foreign nationals were found, mostly from the Republic of Albania (55), the Republic of Serbia (26), Russia (20), Ukraine (10) and seven other European countries, from the neighborhood and beyond. Of those found, 58 women foreign nationals either did not legally regulate their stay or stayed contrary to the purpose, ie abused the previously reported tourist stay, thus acting contrary to the Law on Foreigners, said Marjan Josifoski, spokesman for the SIA Tetovo.
Due to these violations of the legal provisions, SIA Tetovo in this period prepared 13 requests for initiating misdemeanor proceedings against the 58 foreign nationals to the basic courts in Tetovo and Gostivar.
