According to the announcement from the Hydrometeorological Administration, we inform that during the next two days (from 24-25.06.2021 - Thursday to Friday), the entire territory of the country will be affected by temperatures from the orange (alert) phase.

According to the Action Plan for prevention of the consequences of heat waves on the health of the population, it is necessary to respect the general measures for protection of health, such as:

Exemption from work responsibilities of the most vulnerable groups of the population, including pregnant women and persons over 60 years of age.
- In the institutions for care of children (kindergartens) not to practice physical activities and not to take the children outdoors in the period from 11 am to 17 pm.
-Units of local self-government, the Red Cross of RSM and the Centers for Social Affairs in the regions affected by the heat wave to have a more active approach and to provide assistance to lonely, old and frail people and the homeless.
-Given the fact that certain risky production and technological processes may pose an additional risk to the health of exposed workers, employers are reminded of the obligation to comply with legal regulations in this area.

We remind you that the population throughout the summer period needs to respect the following general measures for health protection:

-During the extremely hot days to stay more indoors (primarily air conditioned), and during the necessary stay outdoors in this period, to find the opportunity for more frequent vacations in the shade.
-To wear light and light clothes, and in direct sun exposure to wear goggles and a hat and to use a cream with a high protection factor.
-To eat less food, mostly fruits and vegetables, and less fatty foods.
Intake large amounts of fluids, preferably plain drinking water, and avoid alcoholic beverages.
- When entering a vehicle, it is necessary to ventilate it for a certain period.
-The chronically ill people are recommended to take the prescribed therapy regularly, in consultation with the family doctors.

Due to the high temperatures and the increased possibility of food poisoning and intestinal infectious diseases, it is recommended to wash agricultural and horticultural products (fresh vegetables and fruits) before their use, thermal preparation of food and its consumption immediately after preparation.

The Commission for monitoring the effects of high temperatures at the Ministry of Health continuously monitors the situation and if necessary will propose measures and activities to minimize possible harmful effects of high temperatures.
