A stampede outside a church in Nigeria has killed 31 people
At least 31 people have been killed in Nigeria in a stampede outside a church during food distribution, police say.
It happened in the south of Nigeria, in the city of Port Harcourt, where a church organized the distribution of food on a sports field.
There have been several food distribution deaths in Nigeria in recent years. In 2021, on such an occasion, seven women were run over to death.
