A Panamanian court has sentenced members of a sect to 50 years in prison for "expelling demons" in January 2020 and killing six children and a pregnant woman.

The court sentenced each of the seven accused in the New God Light sect to a maximum of 50 years in prison.

A court in Changuinola, northeastern Panama, has found members of the sect guilty of tying up their victims, including six children and young people between the ages of one and 17, before beating them to death with sticks, bibles and other objects. excuse that they cast out demons.

The pregnant woman was forcibly taken to the sect church, where she was killed in front of her five children, who were then beaten to death along with another minor.
