In a coordinated response, the EU members invite the Russian ambassadors to talk
The countries of the European Union have started inviting the Russian ambassadors to their capitals for a conversation as a coordinated response to Russia's illegal annexation of Ukrainian territories, an EU official told DPA today.
Germany summoned the Russian ambassador to Berlin, the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to DPA. The Russian ambassadors to Italy, Austria and Denmark have been summoned to the ministries of foreign affairs for Monday. The Russian ambassador to Belgium was already summoned on Friday.
The call is being coordinated by the European External Action Service (EEAS), the EU's diplomatic service.
