A Korean Airlines flight with 230 people on board was evacuated this morning before takeoff at South Korea's Incheon International Airport after bullets were found on board, police said. The plane was scheduled to depart for Manila at 7:45 a.m., only to depart Incheon at around 11 a.m. local time after a security check determined there was no immediate threat of terrorism, police said.

The 9 mm bullets were found by a passenger shortly before the plane carrying 218 passengers and 12 crew members took off and returned to the terminal. "We are investigating how the bullets entered the plane," the officer said.

A representative of the airline said that they are following the results of the police investigation. South Korea has strict gun laws, and illegal possession of a firearm carries a prison sentence of up to 15 years and a fine of up to 100 million won.
