In Greece, as of today, a total of 11 cases of monkeypox have been registered, six of which were imported, the MIA correspondent from Athens reported.

According to the weekly report of the National Public Health Organization of Greece (EODI), the remaining four cases are after contact with a suspected case of a foreign citizen in the country, and one case did not report travel abroad or contact with an infected person.

The EODI said that the cases have already recovered or are recovering in a generally good clinical condition and added that the danger to the general population remains low.

Last week, the first case of monkey pox was registered in a person who did not travel abroad, with which, as EODI announced at the time, there are signs of transmission of the disease inside the country.

The first case of monkeypox in Greece was registered at the beginning of June.
